Dr. Dantzker has worked in faculty, staff and
administrative positions at a wide variety of levels and
institutional types during her thirty-five years in higher
education. Her experience encompasses much of the range of higher
education: from teaching developmental education to teaching
graduate courses; private, public and proprietary institutions;
community colleges to research universities; urban and rural
institutions of higher education; as well as academic and student
support and institutional research and planning services. She
applies this rich background of knowledge and experience to assist
A&M-Kingsville accomplish its institutional mission and engage in
planned growth and continuous improvement.
Her research interests involve work in organizational
change, culture and behavior. She continues her study of
institutional effectiveness in all its aspects and writes and
presents regularly, as well as serves as a professional consultant
to colleges and universities. Dr. Dantzker’s continuing interest in
access and equity of opportunity – including developmental education
and learning assistance programs – for under prepared or
economically or socially challenged students reflects her own roots
in rural poverty and personal challenges in obtaining her education.
Her community service activities involve assisting others in their
quests to rise above the challenges of economic and social strata
limitations, as others helped her learn to move beyond similar
challenges.
